What this chart shows
Methodology

Compute SMA(close, 50) and SMA(close, 200) on BTC daily closes. Regime = sign(SMA50 − SMA200): +1 = Golden Cross (uptrend confirmation), −1 = Death Cross (downtrend confirmation). The BTC line is split into two direction-masked series so the colour flips at the exact crossover bar — Golden in teal, Death in coral. Both SMAs are overlaid dashed so the reader can verify the cross visually.
